A Random Shoot with Surfer, Ben

The Brief

Whilst spending a weekend camping near the beaches of North Devon, I talked a friend into doing a shoot after he had been surfing. I always have my camera with me just in case an opportunity like this one crops up.

 

Delivery

I wanted a retro look to these images, so I used a preset that I had made, which adds grain and warmer tones to the image. I had an older camera with me, the trusty old Nikon D700, which still has amazing capabilities for a fifteen-year-old camera, and an old travel lens that has all the range for multiple focal lengths. Ben was a bit reluctant at first, but soon got the hang of it and did a cracking job with the exact look that I was after.
