Frequently Asked Questions

General Info

General information and frequently asked questions about my photography services

  • I use full-frame, 24-megapixel, professional cameras and have two cameras with me at all times. I use a range of fast, professional lenses with constant aperture, along with a variety of professional lighting and studio equipment.

  • I am fully insured with public liability and indemnity insurance specifically for professional photographers.

  • I regularly work with clients on professional photography projects in Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset. However, I also often work with clients throughout the UK, providing professional photography services in London, the West Midlands, Bristol and even further afield, sometimes working oversees. Depending on the distance, I may ask my clients to cover my travel expenses, although I will always disclose this upfront and will never charge an upfee.

  • Files provided via an online album will be delivered at up to 2 MB and 300dpi. However, the pixel size remains the same so these files are adequate for printing. If different dimensions are required, i.e. 72dpi, please let me know.

  • I will provide your photos via a downloadable online album, for which I will email you the link. If required, I can provide a USB stick containing the files, at extra cost. If you require physical prints, I am happy to discuss this further.

  • Images will be edited and delivered to you within 7 days of your photoshoot. I am able to provide images within 24 hours, or on the same day, for an additional cost, if required.

Corporate Headshots

  • Prices for corporate headshots photography vary according to the quantity of photos required and length of time on the job. I have a minimum fee of £200, which covers up to 20 members of staff on one day. If you require professional headshots for more than 20 people, this will be priced at £10 per additional member of staff.

  • I am always happy to travel to your workplace. In fact, if you have multiple members of staff requiring professional headshots, it's likely easier for me to come to you, as this will save time in your work day and eliminate the need for you to travel during work hours. I have a portable studio that is 9-foot wide, which requires a space with a ceiling approximately 10-foot high. If you prefer not to use a studio background, we may be able to find a suitable location in your workplace to take the headshots. Of course, if you prefer to come to me, that's possible too - see below question.

  • If you prefer to come to me for your corporate headshots, I have a studio located in my home in Axminster, Devon. The local train station is only a 10-minute walk from my home and this is located on the main line from London Waterloo to Exeter. I am able to provide refreshments in the form of drinks and light snacks, if required.

  • In order to get natural photos that you're happy with, it's important that you wear something you're comfortable in for your corporate headshot photoshoot. However, it's usually best not to wear overly patterned or stripey garments, as this can cause warping in the image and distract from the focal point - you!

  • As a professional headshot photographer, it's my job to make you feel relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera. As part of this, I'll help you pose on the day to produce headshots that you're happy with, so you don't need to worry about practising your best pose beforehand.

Editorial and Portrait Photography

  • It really depends on your needs and the project brief. Sometimes, it's possible to get the perfect shots really quickly. Whereas, other times it requires a little more persistence to get shots you're satisfied with. We'll discuss your needs before and during the portrait shoot to ensure we hit the nail on the head and deliver photographs you love.

  • In order to capture shots you're happy with, it's important you wear something you're comfortable in for your portrait photoshoot. Of course, your clothing depends largely on the brief and your requirements. At the end of the day, this is your portrait shoot, so it's entirely up to you, or your stylist, what you choose to wear.

  • I'm happy to be led by you concerning your choice of location - whether this be a portrait shoot in your own home, at the park, the beach, or any other indoor or outdoor setting. If required, I can usually recommend a nice location for your editorial or portrait photoshoot.

  • Prices vary depending on the distance, quantity of photos required and length of time on the job. Prices start at £200 for a one-day portrait or editorial photoshoot. I'm always happy to discuss your requirements and provide a bespoke price to suit your needs.

  • No. I'm happy to make minor adjustments if needed, but the property should be clean, tidy and styled accordingly when I arrive.

  • While I'm happy to make minor adjustments to my images, I will not remove environmental objects such as lamp posts, telegraph poles, power lines etc, as your photos should convey an honest depiction of your surroundings and property to avoid misleading potential buyers or clients.

  • If the weather is bad on the day of your property shoot, I'm happy to reschedule to the next available date. However, as a professional property photographer, I always edit my images and use professional lighting equipment to ensure you have bright, well-lit, appealing photos even on the dreariest of days.
